Antique Fire Truck Show and Open House Sept. 9

The Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District will host a combined Antique Fire Truck Show and Open House on Sept. 9 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Station #1 located at 22222 N. Pepper Rd. in Lake Barrington. Explore the contrast between vintage fire equipment from prior generations and today's state-of-the-art services. Admission, hot dogs and refreshments are FREE!

The open house will take place from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., with the antique truck display available until 1 p.m. Admission is free for family members of all ages.

This year’s event will feature:
  • Antique fire truck displays – View historic fire engines and vintage apparatus that served multiple generations. Guests may cast votes for the “People’s Choice” award presented at show’s end. 
  • Fire station tours – Explore the inner-workings of a modern fire station and catch a “behind-the-scenes” glimpse of BCFPD operations. 
  • Touch-a-Truck – Climb aboard advanced BCFPD fire engines and other public safety vehicles that serve area residents every day. 
  • Firefighter ‘meet & greet’ – Mingle with BCFPD firefighters, who will prepare free hot dogs and refreshments for attendees. 
  • Emergency dispatch services overview – Learn about emergency dispatch services from Northwest Central Dispatch representatives, who will be on hand to pass out information. 
  • Local business booths – Visit informational booths staffed by local merchants.
