Sauer Tapped for Key House Committees by Republican Leadership

This week, the Illinois House of Representatives returned to Springfield and began committee hearings for the new legislative session. State Representative Nick Sauer (R-Lake Barrington) has been selected by House Republican Leader Jim Durkin (R-Western Springs) for several committees to utilize his experience with economic and community support issues.

Sauer’s committees include:
  • Economic Opportunity
  • Elections & Campaign Finance
  • Human Services
  • International Trade & Commerce
  • Labor & Commerce Committee
  • Unemployment Insurance Subcommittee
“I appreciate that House Leader Durkin has appointed me to these committees and the opportunity these appointments provide to promote reform oriented, pro-growth policies,” said Sauer. “As the Governor expressed during his State of the State address, for Illinois to be a compassionate state that provides support to our vulnerable citizens, we need to promote economic and job growth to have the means to do so. I look forward to working with my colleagues on these committees to foster the advancement of legislation that promotes these types of policies to create a stronger Illinois.”

Prior to joining the General Assembly, Sauer was a Lake County Board Member and previously worked for the U.S. Department of Commerce on economic issues. Currently, Sauer is a partner in his family’s small business and works with the Royal Family Kids Camps as a mentor to foster children.
