Sauer Sworn-In for 100th General Assembly

Today, Nick Sauer (R-Lake Barrington) was officially sworn-in to represent the 51st District for the 100th convening of the Illinois General Assembly. Sauer, who won the November 8, 2016 election to replace the retiring Ed Sullivan (R-Mundelein), had assumed office in December as part of the 99th General Assembly, giving him his first taste of Springfield before the start of the 100th General Assembly.

“I would again like to thank the residents of the 51st District for entrusting me with the duty of representing your interests in Springfield,” said Sauer. “The opportunity to experience the final days of the 99th General Assembly has given me added insight for the next two years. While there are a few who are resistant to taking Illinois is a new direction, I can say there are many who are determined to find common ground, reform our fiscal outlook and set Illinois on a pro-growth course. I look forward to working with these people toward that end for the betterment of Illinois.”

Sauer noted that some of his priorities for the 100th General Assembly are reforming the state’s budget process, curbing taxes and regulations that are driving business and job opportunities out of the state, and property tax relief.
